Fast Track Heating & Cooling grew out of a residential HVAC business that Matthew Farabee's grandfather, Roland Farabee, ran for more than thirty years. Matthew grew up in Mesa and learned the trade working alongside him, learning the trade the practical way, one service call at a time. When Matthew took the business over, he gave it a new name and a new look, but kept the part that mattered: treating every customer the way you would want your own family treated.

That history shapes how we work more than any slogan could. A business that lasts decades does it on repeat customers and referrals, and you only earn those by being straight with people — telling a homeowner when a repair is the sensible choice instead of a replacement, explaining what we found in plain language, and quoting the job before we start it. Those habits came with the business, and we have no intention of changing them.

Our shop is on McKellips Road in central Mesa, and that location is deliberate. From there we can reach most of Mesa quickly, and Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe and Scottsdale are a short drive away. In an Arizona summer, distance is not an abstract detail — it is the difference between a family waiting an hour for cooling and waiting most of an afternoon. Being central to the East Valley is how we keep same-day service realistic rather than a promise on a website.

It also means we know the housing stock. Central Mesa and Tempe are full of mid-century homes with aging ductwork and converted cooling systems. Gilbert, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley are dominated by newer subdivisions where whole streets of equipment age together. Scottsdale and Paradise Valley bring large, zoned, multi-system properties. Each of those produces a different set of failures, and recognizing the pattern early is a large part of diagnosing a problem quickly and correctly.

Most people call an HVAC company on a bad day, so we try to make the process as predictable as possible. When you reach out, we ask what the system is doing, when it started and whether anything changed beforehand, because those details point the technician toward the cause before they arrive. Same-day service is our standard, and our emergency line is answered around the clock for the situations that cannot wait.

On site, the technician diagnoses the problem first and explains what they found before any work begins. You get a flat-rate quote for the repair up front, so the price does not change halfway through the job. If a repair is not worth making — because the equipment is near the end of its life or the real problem is somewhere else, like the ductwork — we will tell you that plainly, along with the reasoning, and leave the decision with you.

Fast Track Heating & Cooling is licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors under ROC #355929, and our team is bonded and insured. Licensing matters more in HVAC than many homeowners realize: the work involves high-voltage electrical connections, pressurized refrigerant, and in homes with gas furnaces, combustion and venting that affect the safety of everyone in the house.

Arizona lets anyone look up a contractor's license status on the Registrar of Contractors website, and we encourage you to do that with any company you are considering — including us. A valid license, a clean complaint history and proper insurance are the minimum you should expect from anyone working on your home's heating and cooling equipment.

Some of the most useful visits we make end with very little work done. A system that stops cooling because of a tripped breaker, a dead thermostat battery or a filter so clogged the coil froze does not need an expensive repair, and we would rather tell you that than invent one. Likewise, a system that has always struggled in one back bedroom usually has a ductwork problem, and replacing the outdoor unit would not fix it. Saying so costs us a bigger invoice today and earns us a customer who calls again.

When a bigger decision genuinely is on the table — an aging system with a refrigerant leak, or repeated failures in a short span — we lay out the options side by side: what a repair would cost and buy you, what a replacement would involve, and what we would do in your position. Then the decision is yours. Nobody should feel pressured into a major purchase on the hottest afternoon of the year.
